bear lake

Richard wanted to ride the bear lake century this weekend.  It starts at the hotsprings on the NE corner of bear lake and goes to Minnetonka cave, then to Montpelier and back.  He ended up doing about 70 of the 100 miles, which is pretty good since he hasn't had a spare minute to train.

My family decided to make it a trip, so we had my mom and dad, andy + Virginia and their kids, and us.  It was a perfect weekend in my opinion, no stress, no major meltdowns, almost enough sleep and just a good time.  The weather wasn't too hot, but wasn't too cold and the kids played really well.  I got some great pictures Saturday night on the beach.

from Richard's body language it appears that we are strangers and that he is afraid of me.
 chloe (6) loves the seashells
they love to throw the mud
 exploring snake grass and seashells
love this pic.  she's got quiet the get up on!
ahh Julia.  I love this little one.  don't grow up bopee.
the reflection is cool on this picture.  bear lake often gets some pretty cool clouds that roll over the lake in the late afternoon.
anna and remi have a blast together.

anna was so tired by the end of the day that she went to bed well before her cousins.  it was a miracle.
 Julia loves her "pa pa"
the walk back to the cabin is very long.
but they made it.  I remember as a kid always wishing someone would just carry me back.
anna loves the cabin.  but she told me she likes Christmas better.
we shared a cookiedough shake at the bear cave.

Julia on the way home.  I didn't even know she had those glasses and I looked back to see this.  what a treat.

we made it home in time for church.  we sure looked like a motley bunch, but we made it!!  We love the cabin.  It was nice to go so soon after grandpa passing away.  I felt a little sad to sit in his blue chair, but I am so happy he has left such a treat for us.  I wish he could have been there with us.

don't eat my dress spencer!

We have spencer today.  He is getting so big!  We fed him prunes and rice cereal for lunch, the girls enjoyed that.  Julia even shared her high chair!  Then Anna played with him for while after lunch.  He really liked (to eat) her dress.

granite from bell's canyon

on the way up bells canyon Saturday, Richard told anna all about how to rocks from the temple came from the area where we were hiking.  She was very interested.  So, for family home evening, we took her to temple square to feel the granite on the temple and to watch the movies in the visitor center about the temple being built.  She was so excited to go to a MUSEUM.  this girl loves museums.  what a crazy!

Julia and anna were sitting on this bench.  Julia wanted her daddy to come sit RIGHT NEXT to her.

it's pretty cool that she can read all the signs by herself at the museum.  I'm not sure how much she comprehends though - especially since she skips words that are too long to take the time to read......

fathers day

Richard is a good dad.  His girls sure love him.  Especially Julia.  She loves her DADEEE and he Papa's.  Anyways.  We didn't do much to celebrate.  I plan to buy Richard some much needed clothes to wear to the office.  If I can stand to go shopping.  Both of us hate it.  We made Rich some waffles for breakfast.  We had a picnic lunch outside.  He watched some of the world cup.  We went to church, anna sang to him.  (I stayed home for sacrament with Julia because she really needed her nap!).  We went to my mom's after for a barbecue.  My dad gave us a table.  I made him a banana cream pie.  That was father's day.

friends!

our friends came to visit and play.  They live in Clearfield, so we see them about every 6 months (since it is sooo far away...)

We played at the park and in the sandbox and in the playroom.

The amazing thing is that when we get together we rarely have to break up a fight.  All 4 girls play nicely for hours and hours without any need from us to entertain them.

the best thing about "cousins" is that they can all take one big bath together!
Here they are.  What little dollies.
Julia, anna, lucy, mia, halley (spelling?)
Julia is sitting on a doll moderating the foot races.

thanks for coming over Levi and Jamie!
