Makeshift bath

Our apt doesn't have a bath.  But the shower does have high sides.  This may be bad but I let them plug it and it becomes a bath.  We had to shower tonight because Anna was too busy dancing and didn't make it to the potty.

Cousin Elizabeth

Anna loves her cousin E.  she sleeps with a picture of her on occasion.  They are both really spazzy and have a lot of fun giggling and being silly silly together.  Today they actually took a nap together!  So cute.  E lives in Colorado so we don't see her too often.  But when we do its fun!  Thanks for spending a few days with us uncle bry bry!
,
Tuesday AM I watched all the kids for a bit while bry worked from "home". Oliver is one intense kid.  I don't know how you make it through the day breea.
Then Oliver took a nap so we went outside so bry could work a little more.
E wasn't big enough to slide down the slip slide.  Anna is at least double her size.
So we cleaned it up and made a fort.
I let them play with the hose for a while.  Always a big hit.
Since Bryan is a water engineer he fixed the fort so it had a waterfall that turned the turbine in the water table.  That entertained em for a good while while he and I sat and melted in the heat.
Me and my big bro.  Is so fun to have siblings.  Who knew we would choose to make time for each other after we grew up.  My parents must have done seething right.

It wouldn't be a Bryan visit without frying something.  He made me chili relllenos out of the Anaheim peppers Paul gave me.
Yum.  Thanks for dinner bry!
Bryan went to help at my grandmas so I watched all the kids, the girls played with the coordinating dollies aunt breea made.  Anna and Elizabeth dollies and girls.
Giving the dollies a bath.
More pics to come from my camera and from Bryan's if he emails me pics from wheeler farm.  Oh how we wish you lived closer.

5 cent scarves

Possibly the best garage sale purchase I have ever made.

Rained out and cousins

We wanted t eat dinner outside.  The clouds didn't want us to.  We sat. Until it poured too hard and Anna was like....why are we doing this?
We went to grandmas today and ate lunch with her.  After we came home the cousins came over while Virginia went to one of her last on appointments!
Julia wouldn't eat lunch, so when we got home she had some chalk.  Apparently yellow is good.

Anna loves Ballet

We have her signed up for a class this fall.  But sometimes I wonder if we really need to sign her up.  She seems to be fulfilled by doing this at home.  I love that Anna will listen and dance to classical music with me.  She is starting to move to the music.  I love how Julia wanders around all day like she is in this movie.  Her thumb is truly her best friend.  Life is good.

a mill hollow surpise and a first fish!

We went to Vernal this weekend to see Richard's parents.  We decided to take the long way and we stopped by Mill Hollow.  I worked there the summer rich and I got engaged.  I was the head cook and I think I made 10.50$.  It was a stressful job.  But it was also fun and beautiful.  ON the weekends Mill Hollow would host family reunions, so I wasn't surprised when I saw a bunch of vehicles in the parking lot on the weekend.  But I WAS surprised to see Jeff Dahl, our friend from SHERWOOD, helping a van back in to a parking space.  I said "hey! that looks like Jeff Dahl" and then he looked at us and Richard said "that IS Jeff Dahl!"  He walked over to the car and said, "I looked over and saw your car and said Hey, that looks like Richard, wait a second that IS Richard!"  So fun.  Richard was their home teacher, we taught two of their kids in sunday school and Amber was my visiting teacher for a brief moment before we left.  They are the kindest people in the whole world, seriously.  I have learned so much from watching Amber Dahl.  I was so happy to see her again for 10 minutes!  We even got a picture: Haven, Jeff, Amber.  I wish we could have stayed the night so some of Amber's goodness could rub off on me.  But even if we were invited, there was no way I would've wanted to spend the night with the mice at mill hollow.  I didn't tell amber, but I've never seen so many mice in my life as I did there.  that kitchen is INFESTED!
Here are the girls in the teepee.
what are those sticks doing mom?
 wow!
Then we made it to Vernal.  We kept the windows open in Hanna/Tabiona to smell the good fresh air that blows through that pretty valley.  In the morning we picked raspberries while rich went for a bike ride.  Then I ran on the treadmill while Richard mowed the lawn and anna played with the beloved vintage little people toys.  Julia napped.
Anna got some good Josie time.  Julia ran in fear.
Anna picked worms from the garden, we drove up to the uintahs, hiked a big mountain and went fishing.  Anna caught her first fish!  She was thrilled.
me and Julia at the top of the steep hike

It is beautiful up there.
Then Richard chopped down and hauled two trees home for firewood.  that man loves chopping down trees.  Joyce read some Richard Scarry books to anna and she's sleeping in Aunt Joys bed.  Too bad we can't stay here a week.  Its been a beautiful weekend.

julias dance

how to get anna to take a nap (24th of july celebrations)

"We need to commit to serve the Lord and our communities with the same diligence and faith that the pioneers had. We must ever be on our guard that we do not become casual in keeping God's commandments, in abiding by His laws, and in being honest and trustworthy in all that we do."

Hooray for pioneer day!  It's amazing what they did!  May we all remember what they did and not let their hardwork go to waste!

After room time we headed to the library for dance class.  There was a fire alarm during the dance class, which was exciting.  But apparently everything was fine, so after dance we hung out at the library for a good couple of hours reading books and finding bird books to check out.
From there we came home and made cookies for grandma heiner's party and went to grandma heiners.  The cousins were all there.  Anna had a great time putting rhinestones on things with the girls, playing in the playhouse with all the kids and esp playing legos with Gavin and Remi.  Julia had a great time trying to get everyone to feed her rootbeer and junk.  She ate no dinner.  Neither of them did actually, which is odd for my kids.
Andy and Rich went to the shooting place (range...what is it called?) to try andy's guns.  Looks like he had a good time.  I put julia to bed at 7 and we headed up to the park.
My mom's neighbor leann has a nome garden that anna loves.  she knows right where it is and has to stop and check on those gnomes everytime we go to the park.
Anna couldn't handle having shoes on, so off they came and she ran around with her cousies at the park while we all sat and enjoyed the nice cool evening.  She is super cute with Evan and Remi.  They were playing some sort of preschooler freeze tag.

To get them home grandma said "I have a surprise for you!" and they all came running.
We then headed over to meuller park Jr. high to watch the fireworks.  It was a long uphill hike, but anna made it!  We played with glow sticks until they started.

love that anna and grandma have the same expression.  nice pants mom!

evan  I had to brighten these so you could see.

i thought this one of remi was cool unbrightened.  you can kind of see his face.
virginia, andy, chloe, amber, jane amy and kelby in background.
 at 10 the show started!

anna was terrified.  she held this expression for a good 10 minutes.  then she relaxed and enjoyed the show.
So anna went to bed at like 11:00 and she woke up at 8ish.  So we decided we could make it to the parade.  Anna insisted on wearing a "pretty dress" to the parade that "twirls"  So she did.  I parked aways a away and ran to the parade's end at liberty park.  Just as we pulled into the marathon block, I saw my uncle bill running the marathon!  so we cheered him on and went to see him and aunt annette at the finish.  we chatted, my uncle is amazing.  Then he gave us some creamies and the girls loved it!  We wandered around and found a place to sit.
we got front row seating next to some disabled people that camped all night.
julia loved the parade.  anna did too, but she was just a blob.  Julia was up and pointing and talking and dancing and waving a clapping.  she was adorable.

this one is for you joyce!  the Y
julia's favorite was the noah's ark ones because she is really into learning about animals and their noises lately.

this is the float our stake made.  it was built across the street from out house.  anna waited for it with great anticipation

 horses, neigh!
 it was hot!

i got them some popcorn at the grocery store.  it was the healthiest snack food i could find.
we went through a lot of water.  thank goodness it was overcast!
anna is saying "i love the parade!"  julia fell asleep once we started walking back to the car.
all tuckered out.  with popcorn on her thighs.
thank goodness anna consented to a nap.  she has been out for 30 minutes.  woot woot!
