I get these emails everyday with an inspirational quote.  I liked this one.  I felt like relief society meeting really reiterated that message.  It was mentioned several times that it is our job as mothers to watch for teachable moments in our kids' (and grand kids') lives and to teach them gospel principles. 

One that really stuck out was a kid who was giving his great grandma hugs and holding her hand during a family visit.  The grandma noticed that the boy was doing this and sent him an email telling him she thought it was wonderful the way he was honoring his baptismal covenant by caring for his grandma.  So simple. 

The other story I like was about a woman who really liked the way the sacrament prayer was said during church.  She called the young man the next day to tell him how she felt the spirit during his sacrament prayer.  The boy wasn't home, but the mom was.  The mom said her son would be so proud to hear that as it was his first time giving the prayer, so the mom and been working on it with him and teaching him the importance of being worthy to administer the sacrament.

Just wanted to jot down my ideas before they left me.

Dog Lake - take 3, we finally made it!

I worked this morning, but when I got home Richard wanted to go for a hike to see the fall colors.  I did too, but it was his idea today, and a good one at that!  Turns out the aspens are still yellow - but there is a lot of snow at the top of millcreek canyon!

 We got anna to hike well by having numerous snowball fights.

 After probably 3/4 mile she was done and we were done waiting for her.  Richard carried her up the mountain (thank you honey!)

 I carried bee-bop (her official nick name).

 The aspens had a tinge of yellow, but were mostly green.

 We hit some pretty slick snowy trail!  September 28th, and Anna says, ITS GETTING CLOSE TO CHRISTMAS!  She's got high expectation this year, yikes!

 There are always wacko dog people up at Millcreek Canyon.  These people were real doosies.  They even had a diaper bag for their dog!

 Richard carried Julia down.  They were playing soem sort of game and he kept making her giggle.  She loves her daddy.  Apparently he got a good shot of her cuteness.

I slipped here, then anna slipped.  After I slipped she said, "its okay mom, you can be brave and keep hiking because I am holding your hand"  I love my little girlie.  Thanks for going hiking to today my family!

 Uncle Steven came to visit.  Anna was so excited that she asked uncle steven if he would sleep by her bed for FIVE days!  he said no.

 but he did take her to the Aviary!  He is holding julia up here and she's slipping away.

 He held them up so they could look at the peacock.

 these are from last week when i was watching amy's kids.  jane, julia and anna had some good times together while all the other kids were at school.

they took a bath together everynight, this was the most fun part of the day for them i think!

The slide was so much fun that We did it again today!  First we went to great grandmas and fed them lunch, made cookies and played dominoes.  I was on grandmas team because she couldn't focus good enough.  We won.

4 o clock, time to come inside.  Julia and Jane, the showdown.  They both are attached to blankets.

They are 1 year apart, but you'd never know it if u went by size.  Julia is large and Jane is small. Jane is relentlessly mean to Julia.  She swipes EVERYTHING for her.  It doesn't matter is she wants it or not, Julia can't enjoy herself ever when Jane is around.  Julia is terrified of Jane but also likes to flirt with danger.  

Feeding these girls.  Cabbage and noodles.  Green grapes and green beans.  Anna ate everyone's cabbage and noodles.  I made it because I got the recipe from my sis and she said her kids liked it.  Her kids wouldn't touch it.  Just goes to show that you don't try to accommodate kids.  You just say...you get what u get and you don't throw a fit.

We have a dozen more plants outside about this size. Tonight we made two pints and our drying a bunch.  

I need to tell you something

Every morning when Richard starts out to work Anna thinks of something she NEEDS to tell her daddy.  She RUNS after him and says, DADDY DADDY I NEED TO TELL YOU SOMETHING.  Usually it's a small tidbit like "I like my blue coloring book" or "the sky is blue".  Whatever she has to tell him, it's cute that she has thought of a way to get her daddy to stay for just one minute more.
