christmas from pres monson

"Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. It is discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values. It is peace because we have found peace in the Savior’s teachings. It is the time we realize most deeply that the more love is expended, the more there is of it for others."

and a note from today (so far)

we're sick again.  'tis the season i guess.  so we are staying inside today.  i was in the bedroom folding laundry.  julia decided she was hungry.  so she climbed up and got into the cupboard.  there she found a whole pack of sugar free gum that she ate.  i hope she doesn't have bad diarrhea.  when i found her she had the hugest wad of gum that i've ever seen in her mouth.  i dont' know if she swallowed any or not!  good thing she likes to keep things in her mouth.  I also found the remains of a few carmels.  it appears that she ate 3 of them WITH THE WRAPPERS ON.  all that was left were the tail ends of the wrapper (they didn't have any carmel on them so i guess she figured they weren't edible).

Anna is a little darling on the other hand.  she helped me cut out snowflakes and taped them to the windows.  julia just kept stealing the scissors and ran away.  then anna and julia danced to christmas music in the sunshine from the windows.

But i do love that julia.  after lunch (which she didn't want to eat), i read her books in her room.  then anna went to play and i rocked julia for a good 5 minutes.  that girl loves to snuggle and give me kisses.  I had that thought that God has given me the greatest gift of all, a loving husband who provides for us so I can stay at home with these little girls and play and snuggle and smooch them all day.  I couldn't ask for more.
