camping at strawberry

rich posted some of these on facebook, but not all 46!  We went camping with Richards best friend Levi and his family (Jamie with baby girl #3, Hallie and Lucy).  Jamie was a trooper to go camping so prego!  Thanks for coming!  They know of some good places around strawberry reservoir, so we drove around on these roads looking for some dispersed camping sites (free and potty-less).  It took a while and an adventure, but we found one.  Anyways, Rich also invited my sister and her family, so they came along too.  Which is awesome because they brought their new camping OVEN.  yes, that's right, we had cinnamon rolls for breakfast!  It was AWESOME.  much better than a dutch oven.  A bit more pricey, but they won it in a raffle so there you go.  Anyways, the girls had fun together like they always do.  We roasted marshmallows, hot dogs and tried to keep Amy's boys from hurting anyone with the roasting sticks.  The kids went to bed and we stayed up talking around the fire until 11, which is way late for us old farts.  In the morning we had a great breakfast, eggs, bacon sausage, cinnamon rolls.  Then we took down camp and I took the kids for pony rides on my back, they all did yoga with me and then we went fishing at strawberry.  Of course we had no luck.  But amber did get in the mud and we saw a lot of crawdads.  AFter that we had lunch and went home.  It was fun, but so exhausting for the girls to stay up that late.  I think its worth it though.

JUlia woke up first and rich got up with her (thank you hunny!).  She meandered around camp and tried to get in to wake us up.
Which she eventually did.  I love this picture.
Snugglying with my girlies in a tent!
Amy's 3rd Evan ate his bfast in the truck bed.
camp oven cinnamon rolls, awesome!  Rich now thinks we need a truck and a camp oven.  I agree.  Cookies in the wild sounds amazing.
Breakfast with Julia, Lucy and Hallie.
The girls played hide and seek.  They were a bit like the ostrich with it's head in the sand.  if you can't see me I can't see you!  Aspens are a bit too skinny to make great hiding places.

Julia loves her daddyo.
The kids found a measuring tape and played with it for a long time.  I think this is supposed to be a boat or something.  Then amber cut her hand and that was the end of that.

I started doing Yoga.
and eventually all the kids joined in.  I love yoga with kids.

cobra.  i think?
down dog.
dog pile on me.
Amy whipped out the guitar and she and amber serenaded our morning.

Rich called his dad and he met us.  Julia was delighted to see grandpa, but not Josie.  She is terrified of all animals.  Especially dogs.
But the other preschoolers aren't afraid.
Not at all.
Rich and his daddy.
Kelby and Jane.  To the right was the potty.  Evan was going potty during this picutre and i didn't realize it until after.  good thing he hid himself well.
Levi and Jamie, arent they cute!
Pretty Lucy.
Cute little hallie, she took a liking to Elizabeth dolly.
Amy concert.
sweet baby jane.

Kelby oversaw some wood cutting.  It was a bit sketchy to say the least.
Fishing....or uh....watching kids throw rocks in the water.
Anna did some fishing.
Julia, kelby in the background.
Evan and Anna enjoyed fishing,  evan the most.
Anna and Lucy trying to catch a butterfly.
Looking at dead crawdad bones and extracting worms from the carcass.  Yes, Lucy and Anna had a great time playing with maggots.  Is that not the grossest thing you've ever heard?
Julia got in on the exploring.
Amber enjoyed the mud.
The trooper Jamie!  Wow, she's amazing to go camping and fishing so prego.
Gavin found some girls that were catching crawdads.  He and amber went swimming with them and found some old wood to use as floaties.  The kids had an awesome time even though the water was NASTY.  Kids will be kids! I love that they aren't worried about being dirty.
although it was a little cold....
We had lunch at the fish hatchery.  Eveyone dog piled me again.
Anna and Julia exploring the water cooler.  It was convenient that my mom left it at our house after anna's bday party.
AFter lunch the girls slept for a good hour and a half.  Rich even let me go into gap and buy some new jeans while he circled the parking lot to keep them asleep.  that is LOVE baby!
Rich planned and carried out the whole trip.  Nice job honey.  That's why I married you.  You are fun and a good bossy boss that carries out plans.  thanks honey.
