recipe for breea

falafel for breea

1 3/4 cups dried chickpeas - soak all day or just for a few hours if that's all you have time for 8 hrs is ideal
2 cloves garlic
1 small onion
1 tsp ground coriander
1 T cumin
1 tsp cayenne
1 C cilantro
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 T lemon juice

put it all in the food processor and pulse until its chopped enough that you can form it into balls
pan fry in as little oil as possible

or do it bryan and breea style:  chop dried chickpeas by hand.  then attempt to mix in blender.  cook in the fry daddy.

tzatziki

i made this up.

a little EVOO (like 1 T)
1 T vinegar (white or cider but last time i used balsamic cuz i felt like it and it was good)
garlic (i like a lot, so i usually just do about a T)
1/2 t salt
1/4 t pepper
1 C nonfat greek yogurt
1 c lite sour cream (i leave this out sometimes)
2 cucumbers small dice (peeled)
1 t dill (fresh is best, but i used dried dill weed)

mix it up and enjoy with falafel and pita.  or if you are short on time because you took 2 two year olds hiking then just use tortillas
