Thank goodness Julia stopped doing this

Found this on the iPad today.  Julia was really into getting into the cupboard.  She doesn't do that anymore. Now she just does acrobatics from the table to her high chair.

east millcreek sixth ward

we walk to church every week.  rain, snow or smeltering heat.  I dont' what is worse?  Anyways, it's like spring outside now so I'm not complaining.  As you can see from the green grass, this movie was taken a long time ago.  I found it on the ipad today.

Are we in Portland?

Felt like Portland today.  W went to deliver some Valentines and got caught in a thunder shower, sort of odd for Utah in the winter.  I bought the girls new rain boots for Valentines and we got good use of them today.  The ones we used in Portland got holes in them.

DMV, Tracy Aviary, new running shoes

Today I got my car some Utah plates.  So sad.  I was brave and took the kids to the DMV with me.  it turned out okay because if you go before 9 am there is no wait.

While I was down that way I took the girls to the Aviary.  Anna's favorite this time was probably the wetland observation area.  We looked for and found every bird listed on the charts they give you.  Usually our attention doesn't last that long.  I was excited because they brought the flamingos back out.  Hooray for spring!  It's on it's way!  I'm not sure what Julia is doing, but there are the flamingos.

Then we went to the Salt Lake Running company to get me some new running shoes.  I've been doing the Insanity workouts since October, just to take a break from running.  But now that its warmer I'm ready to go outside!  The girls were pretty good while I shopped, but Julia thought she needed to try on all the shoes.  Those running shoe people are really intense.  I just want to buy something that is less than 100$.....they go into all this jazz about no drop low drop cushion and yadda yadda.  Does it really matter?  I'm not convinced.

Then we came home and Anna painted some valentines while Julia napped.

We then went to dance.  I asked the teacher for permission to add Julia - there is no stopping her now.  She's a dancer, maybe even more than anna!  I have to help her sometimes because she doesn't understand the concept of waiting in line.

building bridges and wheeler farm

we learned about the golden gate bridge.  checked out a bunch of books, watched some documentaries, then we made a bridge out of popsicle sticks, cardstock, pipecleaners and salt dough.  anna loved it.  Julia napped.
This morning was grey and cold: we went to dance class at the library.
This afternoon was beautiful: we went to Wheeler Farm.
The geese flocked to us, the girls were terrified.  So was I!  Those things are bigger (and possibly meaner) than Julia!
The treehouse was nice and dry.  Everything else was muddy and poop puddle-y
Julia is still terrified of cows, horses, pigs and geese.  But she loved the goats this time.  She's waving to the goat here and saying HI GOAT!
Anna watched the turkeys for a long while, waiting for them to gobble.
Then we went over the bridge and just walked and walked.  my goal was to go the grocery store.  we didnt' make it because I chose to let them doddle.
 doddling.
more doddling.

then we had to dance in the barn house.  we do this every time we go.  its quiet enjoyable.  But today I was annoyed because I was HUNGRY and needed to go to the store to get food.  But anyways, this movie is on the tail end of the dancing and all that walking, so anna's moves are less than what they usually are.  I love how Julia copies.

sunday

it was stake conference.  that means we had an adultish meeting for 2 consecutive hours today.  the girls lasted one hour before going berzerko, then I took them to the nursery and let them play.  after church we put Julia to bed in anna's old bed for her first time!  She slept well even though she was scared.  While she slept anna and I went and visited grandma Elaine.  we played uno, then sorry, then a letter game, then sang primary songs and hymns, put grandpas compression socks on, and went home.
then we got daddy off the couch and went out for a walk around the jr. high by our house.
 oh Julia!  you're a doll!
I tried to get a good shot while on our walk.
anna felt like giving me 'tude.  this is her lastest pose.  imagine her saying "no I WONT pick up my toys"  well well well mrs. sassy pants!

they got cold....or something.

then we came home and went to grandma heiners for dinner.  it was a nice sunday - OUT OF THE basement (:
