Art Museum

It was free day at the fine art museum again.  We danced again.
We have been reading about ancient Greece, so anna was excited to examine this ancient greek pot.  We've been reading about Greece because this month our calendar has a picture of the Parthenon.  Anna loves the greek myths.  We've been able to find full storybooks about Diogenes, Persephone and Pandora.  Pretty interesting stuff.  For a girl who loves stories, ancient Greece is where it is at.
This is st. patricks day storytime.  Look how cute anna and Julia are sitting right next to each other.  anna is in the stripes and Julia is in the pink.
anna loves to read in this little gazebo they have at the library.  Julia loves to climb on it.
we went to the Discovery Gateway Children's museum today (free day for zoo arts and parks).  They loved it.  I wish we had a pass.  There is so much to do there it's impossible to fit it into one day!  We ate our lunch outside and people watched.  Anna loves people watching.  Almost as much as she loves PBJ sandwiches.  We played with a friend today from the ward.  I decided I need to make that a priority.  Anna needs some socialization with someone besides Julia (and book characters).

342

This is the number of books we have checked out since the library started keeping track on December 21.

St Patricks day.

Our green smoothie actually ended up purple.  But we did drink out of st Patricks cups.

Went to dance time at the library.  ThEy did some Irish stuff.  My mind has been on some work stuff so I wasn't as fun as I usually am on st Patricks day.

Spencer was with us.  It was fun,  Julia can't get enough of him and over stimulates him quiet often.
Anna is calm and quiet.  She reads him books and gently tries to calm him when he fusses.
I love having the baby around.  There's just something about loving and snuggling a little baby that brings peace to my soul.  However, it's nice to get a full nights rest and to send him home at the end of the day!  Someday we will be ready for another....probably not now though!

a song for aunt amy

I caught anna making up words to the tune from LPM.  I don't know how that was in her head, we haven't listened to that CD since....well it was probably Monday.....

friday

It was a good day.  I did my insanity workout.....got a bunch of work done and did loads of laundry...ground wheat...made bread....got anna to practice her primary talk.....and the highlight of the day: going for a bike ride with Anna.  We made it 1 mile to the park...but the ride home was sketchy....so we stopped at an elementary school and waited for daddy to come home from work to pick us up.  Arrive he did - orange vest and all.  We even risked getting ticketed and drove the kids home in the front seat of the truck without carseats.  When I tucked anna in for bed she told me the best part of her day: riding in the front seat of the truck.  I think we all enjoyed it actually - too bad carseats save lives.
we always stop at this "secret hideout" on our way to the park.  Anna wears my helmet.  She has a big head.
Julia loves this cougar shirt uncle steven bought (for anna when anna was like 9 months old) because I told her that her daddy loves the cougar.  It's amazing she chooses to wear this as it isn't pink - princess - or tutu.  You should see how many outfits we go through trying to decide what miss princess will wear.
Before this picture Richard said: "give me your best smiles!" then he posed like this (in imitation of Anna).  We had a good laugh about that.  Actually I'm still giggling to myself......I am also loving that mountain in the background.  Salt Lake really isn't the greatest city - but we do love these mountains!

Thursday

We met Kaelie and Avrie for CafĂ© Rio on Thursday night.  I knew it was too late but I wanted to see my friend.  Anna ended up having a meltdown at the restaurant and has been so tired all day - but the dinner date ended well - the girls had a fantastic dance party before we got in the car to go home (:

Before our dinner date we went for a hike in the fantastic spring weather.  We went up Millcreek.  I can't say enough how awesome it is to have hiking at our fingertips.  It was muddy - I have to reassure myself often that those rainboots were a good purchase.  Anna had a great time making up stories on our hike.  We weren't hiking....we were on a treasure hunt that involved killing monstrous bears, riding hot air balloons and steering clear of bad guys (and dogs for Julia).  It was a beautiful afternoon.

here is Richard and julia joining in the bear killing (aka hitting a giant rock with a stick).  did you know you can kill a bear and suck your thumb at the same time?
