organizing and running

My mom's house is CRAFT zilla, she's got more doodads than Joanns.  Anna found these gems sunday and decorated Richards face.  Doesn't he look cute?  Actually I think creepy is the word.  But there was a lot of laughing while this was going down.  So that was sunday, we drove around sunday looking for areas where we want to live.  I don't hink I like taylorsville or S. Jordan.  I just loved sherwood so much, nothing compares.  Even to the sketchy side of sherwood we lived on.

So now it's Monday and I'm feeling better.  Anna's feeling better.  Julia's feeling better.  It's so nice to feel good enough to function.  Sooo today we got a lot accomplished.  We did yoga in the morning, then cleaned the bathrooms and did my moms laundry, then we played the piano and sang disney songs.  Anna loves to sing along to Colors of the Wind and Bippity Boppity Boo.  When julia went down for her nap we cleaned out my mom's deep freeze.  That was intense.  There's a lot of stuff in there for me to cook, but it wasn't in bad shape like the storage room was.  Then we organized her tupperware.  It was intense.  Really intense.  I tossed a whole big huge bag full of tupperware lids and bases without lids.  Anna enjoyed the game of sorting the lids into shapes (circles and squares) and making towers out of the tupperware that did have lids.  oye.  Tupperware.

julia is playing the tupperware drum.  she loves drumming.
After tupperware, reading about 10 books, bundling up both girls and getting more books for the stroller ride, we headed out for a run.
this is on our run, they both fell asleep.  how nice.  no fighting.
lots of snow.  lots of hills.  i barely made it up this one.
if you look really close you can see the temple in middle of the picture, where teh sidewalk ends.  You can see out over the whole valley from up here.
i ran into some snowy sidewalks, but it was nothing the Burley couldn't handle.  I love that thing.
We made it to the temple!  Such a beautiful sunny day.  I didn't realize how much I do enjoy the sun.  And how much I miss the green....and my running route in sherwood.  But this route is my favorite route in the whole world.  I know I'm crazy.  I love places for the running.  Logan really was best, but you probably can't run on the logan bluff trail since that landslide richard did his thesis on killed a few people a few years ago.  that was a horribly written sentence.  time to go to bed.

I hope there is fishing in heaven

My Grandpa Heiner was reunited with his loved ones in heaven this week on monday.  He lived in Bedford WY.  He was a tough guy, a true outdoorsman and someone I really looked up to.  I was terrified of him too though.  He's my dad's dad.  One of the truely amazing things about him is his posterity.  He has over 100 great grandchildren!!  wow!  So as you can imagine when we all get together it's a lot of people!

Anywas, since we are sick I tried to limit our exposure to the clan.  The viewing was friday night in Bedford, but we decided just to make it to the funeral saturday morning.  It is a four hour drive from Bountiful.  Because Taylor and Jill (my bro and sis) had school friday, they rode up with us (my mom and dad drove up friday).  It was a long, but wonderful day.  Full of lots of wrestling kids and trying to forget myself and think about my Grandpa.

aunt virginia and andy stopped by on their way up to the viewing friday.  virginia read some books to chloe, remi and anna.  look at julia peeking in on the fun.
then anna got chloe to read her some books.  anna is really missing her FRIENDS!
chloe helped me mop moms floor.  she is always a big helper.
we were going to walk to the temple friday night, but we only made it around the block.  the snow has already melted a lot.
have you ever had to dig your mailbox out?
taylor and i look a lot a like.
 richard, our trusty driver.
the teenagers fell asleep.  you can see jill sleeping next to anna below.
no sleep for anna.  Cinderalla cinderella.  shes probably watched this thing 20 times.
bro bryan from denver.  with his daughter elizabeth.
amy and 3 of her 4.  where is gavin?  also in background is my cousins husband richard.  she also has a daughter anna!  seems that i am a copy cat because she both married and had her baby before me (:
 line of siblings.
virginia and oliver.  doesn't he look like a mini teenager.  oliver is not hers.  he is bryans.
cousins kids looking at granpas memoirs.

oh julia you are a doll.
 headstone and casket.
 my dad's siblings.
eldee, mel, tedijean, jay, sheri, grandma, bart, my dad, nolan
family prayer.  that was a squishy and hot room.  my dad said the prayer.
look past rich and out the window.  is taht guy filling up his snowmobile at the local maverick gas station?  yes.  afton WY is a rugged place.
at the burial.  notice the bit of mountains in the background and the beautiful day for grandpa.

im exhausted.  that was a lot of driving for one day.  hopefully ill be able to post some of the things shared about grandpa tomorrow.

sick days

i was upstairs trying to tame julia and came back down to find anna sleeping in a box.
she was just pretending and got right back to watching barney when i tried to get a good pic.
we love all grandmas toys! they make the quarantine more tolerable.
julia likes to undo everything anna builds.  she is such a tease.
we have been enjoying playing grandmas piano.  we love the primary songs.
anna took all the blankets off all the beds and put them in the middle of the room for a good story time.
these are our living quarters.  my parents have a tv in every room of the house.  for real.  even if it isn't plugged in.
anna likes to wake up julia from her naps.  this is not a good thing.
julia and anna love grandmas doll house.

Rain to Snow!

Rain is SOOO much better than snow!  But still I went for a run last night on my old running route through the snow and loved it.   Im not so sure rich is going to love it today though, he's out drilling for work - sounds cold!

Yesterday I let anna watch movies all day.  she was grouchy i wouldn't touch her with a.....39 and a half foot pole!  (:  Julia has now had a fever and was up all night.  oh well.  I cleaned my moms storage room and found green beans from 1993 and a can of tomatoes that was exploding.  Later that night she found a dead mouse in there.  It's pretty exciting down in the basement.

So lets get on to what this blog is about!  Those cute girls with the buhler cheeks!  Anna and Julia are super super sick with fevers and bad coughs.  They both have RSV, which stands for Really Stinky Virus.  They are up all night and super grouchy all day.  It's such a bummer we haven't been able to play in the snow.  Anna has been so sick she's even taken naps.  Mostly in the car (see below).  First pic is of Rich, happy to be in Utah!

I unearthed the camera and dragged anna outside while julia was napping.  she was super grouchy about it, but i got a few pics in the 5 minutes i managed to keep her outside.

Im feeling pretty sad and missing my friends.  But hopefully when I'm not sick anymore and the girls arent sick anymore we can get out of this funk and be a bit happier.

Moving!

Moving is rough.  It's even rougher in the middle of January with 2 small children who are sick, a house that won't sell and winter weather (including freezing rain and 12+ inches of snow).  But!  How blessed we are to be staying with family who loves us and takes care of us.   We are so blessed to have work here and to have things to do.  here's a run down of our past week.

Saturday: make a rash decision to pack our moving truck by ourselves in one day.  We did have a bit of help from friends and neighbors, thank you!  We sure couldn't have done it with Anna there, so thanks for babysitting!
Sunday:  finally get released from our callings at church.  Kill time in an empty house.  Have one last Sunday dinner with the nielsens.
Monday:  Richard gone to work in Seattle, get house attic fixed, get other odds and ends fixed.  Clean garage take bunch of stuff to the recycle center.
Tuesday: our last day at toddler time.  Pack.  Party with friends.  Procrastinate getting our stuff in the car.  Richard cmes home from seattle.  Attempt to sleep with Julia in our room.  Sleep deprivation begins.
Wednesday:  pack up the cars and leave.  Lots of crying.  Drive to Pendleton before getting stopped by freezing rain and dense fog.  Casinos are depressing places to stay, even if rooms are 50$ a night.  Sleep deprivation continues.  Buyers back out of buying our home.
Thursday:  drive to mountain home ID.   get stopped by weather.  Mt home Hampton inn is very nice.  Walmart does not sell swimsuits out of season.  Toddlers can swim in anything.  Julia sleeps in the bathroom.  We get some rest.  House back on market.
Friday:  drive to bountiful.  What are we supposed to do now?  Weather is dreary, RED air day.  Decide that Julia cannot sleep in the same room as us!!!
Saturday:  move 5 years of life into a 10x25 storage unit.  Not feeling great about my decision to move here before the house sold.  So grateful for so much family to help us.  Another red air day.
Sunday:  go to church in old ward from growing up.  Church always lightens my spirits.  Snow.  Lots of snow.  A foot probably.  Anna falls asleep during a movie, there is a first for everything.  Get a new offer on the house for our asking price!
Monday:  rich has first day of work.  drives at 35 mph on freeway to get there.  listen to anna sceam all day: I DONT WANT TO, I WANT TO GO TO BED! Anna has had an off and on fever for a few days.  Take her to MD.she has RSV.  My grandpa died today.  He was a wonderful man and I'm happy he is with his wife and family.  Funeral on Saturday, not sure if I'll make it with 2 sick girls.
Tuesday:  that's tomorrow.  I give up on being a good mom, now that I know what Anna has, I'm going to let her watch movies all day.  The question is, what should I do with my time?!  And how will I go running?!  Isn't my life so rough?  I hope I can get a chance to play in this snow soon!  It is beautiful.

Yes, I will find the camera and start using it again soon.  Oh and maybe I'll get my phone charged too....
