sunday of the lorri visit

sunday morning I made banana muffins and veggie eggs for breakfast.  I listened to conference while lorri got ready for the day.  We listened to Pres. Monson's talk together on our way to Antelope Island.  That led to a long discussion about our church and the things we do (and do not) believe.  We spent all day at antelope island checking out the desert.  There's not much to see out there (unless you look up close - check out the pics below).  I love close up pictures.

Then we went to my mom's birthday party at my sister's house.  Lorri likes to observe different families.  She thought it was interesting how we all just dug into the cake with our forks after everyone was done eating.  She also thought it was funny how all the men just up and disappeared after lunch.  I told here that those things are pretty regular happenings at our family shin digs.

Rich and the girls got back from Vernal sunday night, and we were all exhausted so we all went to bed.

Saturday night Lorri wanted to get some pics of the sunset (she's practicing with her camera).  We went up to the sessions mountain trail with my sister Jill (since mom and dad left her alone and she was lonely).  We saw a rattlesnake on the trail (it was rather small).  I love it up there - I take everyone I love up there because it's a short hike with a good view!  After that Lorri treated Jill and I to Cafe Rio.  She liked it.  I don't know if she loved it like we Utah'ns do though!  We went home and chatted until 1 in the morning and then went to bed.

A visit from Lorri

My girlfriend from my days at Salem Hospital in Oregon came to visit!  She flew in on thursday night and she will go home tuesday night.  One of the best things about Lorri is that she has an awesome camera and loves to take pictures!  We just caught up late into the night thursday, on friday we went to gardner village to see the witches (and weird utah culture), then rich took the girls to vernal with him and lorri and I hiked Cecret Lake up little cottonwood canyon.  We then made some yummy soup and went to bed!  Today we woke up and hiked the pipeline trail all morning, we came home and had a good lunch and relaxed.  I am missing the girls - but it is sure nice!

HOW has it already been a week?

I don't know where the time went.

friday night: we watched spencer.  rich probably worked late.  julia got stuck on a shelf in her room.  it was a wonderful peaceful day.

 anna is still into tying things to other things.  spencer is getting so big!

saturday:  we helped andy move into grandma elaine's house.  It was an all day project.  i made butterscotch biscuits for the early morning movers (grandma janeane's recipe).  The girls had a great time playing with all of chloe and remi's toys while we helped the adults.  i made lunch for everyone.  saturday night I watched women's conference on TV while rich and I canned pears and tomatoes together.  we like to can together.

sunday: we went to church together as a family.  that hasn't happened for months, so it was nice.  then we had a nice dinner together (falafel - rich cooked it).  We ended the night watching The Hobbit (we listened to it on our way to denver and have been dying to watch the show).  I had nightmares all night.  We also made a new reading nook for anna and put up the baby swing i bought for 1$ at a yard sale.

monday: rich worked all day and got home after the girls were in bed.  im not sure what i did - probably cleaned the mess from the weekend and worked.

tuesday:  i went to tooele for work all morning.  chloe across the street watched the girls.  after i got home a piano tuner came and tuned the piano!  hooray!  now we can play it without cringing.

wednesday: we had spencer.  we went to the library, it was cold enough for coats!  I had to work in the evening.  the buhlers drove in to pick up steven (he flew in from Hawaii to go hunting).

thursday: we have spencer again.  steven had the girls try on flower leas from hawaii.  julia is rather afraid of uncle steven.  we went to ikea to buy a side table and lamps for the bedroom downstairs.  lamps are expensive.  i love how spencer is just chill'n in this picture.  i bought ice cream for the girls.
